I play a Brannen-Cooper flute which is a masterful instrument (beautifully made with a very fine acoustic). I also have a Powell flute which I love but which is rather long in the tooth and fragile. I bring it out occasionally and it has a lovely, vibrant warm tone which is wonderful to hear and feel.

The Australian Flute Association was formed at an inaugural meeting held in Sydney on Sunday, September 20th, 1981, after preliminary discussions had been held during the 4th Australian Flute Convention held in Canberra at Easter, 1980. The steering committee for this was chaired by Linda Vogt, A.M.

The School of Music, Faculty of Arts, is centrally located in Canberra City within the campus of The Australian National University. The main entrance is located on William Herbert Place, off Childers Street and there is pay parking available off Childers Street.
