Safe sex is important to protect women from a range of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) including the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In relationships where one partner is HIV positive and the other is not, safe sex is still possible. Talk with your doctor, health worker or AIDS organisation about how you can practice safer sex.
